We’re excited to share new progress in Zimbabwe

IT WAS CHARLES SPURGEON WHO SAID, “One of the greatest rewards that we ever receive for serving God is the permission to do still more for Him.” This statement really excites me as I see all that God has been doing through the Peter Project, particularly in Zimbabwe.

ZIMBABWE UPDATE

I was able to visit Zimbabwe in January, during which time I conducted further teacher training in the Midlands Province. We have now trained a total of 9 national pastors who will in turn begin to train up a group of student pastors and church leaders.

At the time of writing this we have a total of 35 students enrolled for the 2-year pastor training program. Classes will begin in March in 9 different rural and urban locations within a 125 mile radius of the city of Gweru, in central Zimbabwe.

The Peter Project Initiative Mission Statement is: "To provide an affordable, accessible and comprehensive theological training to Africa's untrained pastors and church leaders in order to strengthen the local church, equip the saints and thus bring glory to our Lord Jesus Christ”

That’s our goal - to  make a comprehensive and affordable Bible College education accessible to those who want to serve the Lord.

The enthusiasm and excitement of these men was so evident as we spent time planning, training and equipping. They are already talking about where to take this ministry next in Zimbabwe, and are even looking at expanding beyond Zimbabwe’s borders to Zambia and Malawi!

Please pray for the teachers as they prepare for the start of classes in March. Pray for the students who are enrolled in the program, that the Lord will use them and this training to raise up church planters and pastors to take the Gospel into all corners of Zimbabwe. Please pray also for the financial needs as we expand the Peter Project Initiative.

GHANA UPDATE

Classes started up again this week in Ghana after the year end break. Like Zimbabwe, we have a total of 35 students undergoing training there. Most of the students are nearing the end of the 2-year cycle, as they begin studying Courses #7 (Church Ministry, Administration and Education) and #8 (Teaching Principles and Methods). We should see the first students graduation from the program later this year.

I plan to visit Ghana in the next few months to encourage, equip and do further training. Please pray for the funding needed for this trip as well as praying for Pastor Mathew Yennaah (who administers the program there), and the 7 teachers and 35 students undergoing training.

FURLOUGH PLANS

We have begun to make plans for a short furlough to the US from 1st September to 20th December this year. We will once again be based in North Carolina and hope to be able to visit as many of our supporting churches as possible during this time.

Our meeting schedule is filling up very fast. However we still have a few Sundays open, mainly in November, as well as most mid-week services. We also have some Sunday evenings available.

Currently we have meetings scheduled in North Carolina, Georgia, Connecticut, New York State, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Indiana.

If you would like us to come and share our ministry in your church, please contact me at peacocke.graham@Ifmnews.com so that we can schedule a visit.

We have accommodation secured for our time in the States but we are still in need of a vehicle. On previous visits we have either borrowed or rented a car, but renting is so expensive. If you’re able to help us with a reliable vehicle to be used during this time, please let us know by using the email address above. It would be most helpful and greatly appreciated.

FUNDING NEEDS

It’s so exciting to see the Peter Project Initiative growing and expanding. This ministry fulfils a great need here in Africa - making good Biblical training both affordable and accessible.

We’ve been overwhelmed to see the response on the ground as students are able to study and be equipped for ministry for the first time. The excitement and hunger for God’s Word is incredible. We want to be able to keep up with the demand as well as have the capacity to take this ministry to new areas.

Our recent expansion into Zimbabwe has exhausted most of our existing funds. Any help you could give towards the needs listed below would greatly appreciated. Thank you for all the support so many of you graciously give to this ministry. We couldn’t do this without you.

I trust that you’ve been as encouraged as we have in seeing what the what the Lord has been doing with this ministry. Please continue to pray with us and for us as we seek to do still more for Him.

Onward and Upward!
Graham & Joanne Peacocke
